At first, it was difficult for the shipwreck survivors to come to terms with what had happened to them.
There were many tears,
acts of desperation,
(Although Pascal is half Fortune, this is the first time I've seen this!
Ignore the mailbox; btw... this is before I d/l the invisible mailbox replacement.)
However, soon they all learned to work together, and they built their homes,
... made furniture and facilities,
... even fashioned bedspreads and carpets... all from the abundant materials surrounding them and what they were able to salvage from the wrecked ship.
They found food was plentiful on the island as well, and harvested many different fruits, vegetables, and grains.
Fish and other game were there for the taking also... providing a rich and varied diet.
The survivors cultivated the fertile soil and planted the seeds they kept from the wild fruits and vegetables they gathered, and it wasn't long before they began to harvest their own produce.
What resources they were able to salvage from the wrecked vessel, they shared among themselves,
... and they even found the supplies they needed to create a means for energy and clean water.
Before too much time had passed, all of the survivors had enough of everything they needed to live... if not in luxury, at least in relative comfort.
And so, a fledgling society was formed... on what they soon dubbed Prosperity Island.
However, no one realized their new home was already home to Others...
... wonderous beings who lived and slept under the sea, patiently awaiting the time when they would make themselves known.
More to come...
