My oldest daughter started her period for the first time.
I had been telling her about it for years now, so I don't think either of us was shocked, but I still worry that I've missed something. It's been so long since I got mine for the first time and I've been racking my brain trying to remember if there was something I wished I knew that I didn't back then.
My daughter seems so... disinterested. She almost seems as though she wants to ignore the whole thing. I don't want to push anything on her but I also don't want her to be uninformed. Also, I'm surprised at how much I'm worrying about all of this. I never thought I would worry, but I do. I worry that she'll have bad cramps. I worry that she'll leak at school and be embarrassed. I worry that she won't change often enough, etc.
I know she has to learn to deal with this on her own and in her own way, but I want to help as much as I can.
So what do you wish you had known about the whole thing that no one told you?
*cries* MY BABY IS GROWING UP!!!! *runs off to sob*
